Today in ELA we handed out a homework packet and it will be due on Thursday. We are going to go back to this policy. We had changed it to passing homework out on Thursdays and it would be due the following Wednesday but too many students were forgetting about it.
Just a reminder that there will not be school on Monday, October 13th so that we can participate in a professional development day.
The end of first quarter is this Friday so we are going to be giving our end of the quarter/post test over what we have been focusing on for the last 6 weeks. Your child made a flip book study guide last week and should be studying that at home. They will be tested over figurative language and pronouns.
Just a reminder about homework packets and the new policy. We now hand out homework on Thursdays and they are due the following Wednesday. Please check in with your child to make sure they are keeping up with those packets.
This week all of the students started reading content and all students are going to different teachers for intervention time. Reading content is block one and is for 30 minutes and Intervention time is during block two and is also for 30 minutes. Intervention time will look different for every student. Based on data that we have taken from assessments that we have used so far this year (SRI or Student Reading Inventory and Aimesweb, which is used to look at reading fluency, reading comprehension, math computation, and math problem solving) students were placed in either a reading or math intervention group. These are small groups and this time is used in order for students to receive extra help in areas they may be struggling in.
